Job summary

Dalcom Engineering is seeking a Radio Frequency Engineer to support modeling & simulation for a U.S. Army radar system integration lab at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. You will develop DSP, beamforming, and I/Q processing algorithms in C++ within a distributed simulation environment.

The role requires strong MATLAB experience, Linux/Windows development, and clear communication of complex ideas to stakeholders. DoD clearance is a key expectation, with HUBZone history noted in the company profile.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent experience.
• DoD SECRET security clearance ability.
• 2+ years of MATLAB experience.
• Strong understanding of algorithms and software design patterns.
• Experience with Linux environments (CentOS/RHEL) and Windows.
• Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop algorithms for digital signal processing, DSP, beamforming, and I/Q processing; implement in C++ and integrate into a distributed simulator.
• Provide signal processing expertise, especially for radar I/Q data.
• Coordinate with teams to define requirements and support cross-language implementations (C++, MATLAB, SoC embedded).
• Analyze gaps and design tradeoffs in the simulation environment and propose actions.
• Communicate technical approaches and findings to stakeholders and leadership.
• Participate in discussions for near- and long-term system planning.
• Develop test procedures for algorithm evaluation and analysis.
• Maintain code quality with version control, automated builds, and unit tests.
