Job summary

The Structures Company is seeking a CAD Designer in Lansdale, PA to design complex multi-layer PCBs for RF and high-speed applications. The role requires strong Altium, Xpedition, and Cadence skills and offers substantial project exposure.

Responsibilities include RF layouts, SI/PI, EMI/EMC mitigation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle. The position emphasizes mentoring junior designers and ensuring IPC and defense standards compliance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional PCB design experience.
• Extensive RF layout experience with GHz-range designs.
• Proficiency in Altium Designer.
• Proficiency in Siemens Xpedition.
• Proficiency in Cadence Allegro PCB Designer.
• Experience with 10+ layer boards preferred.
• Knowledge of impedance routing, differential pairs, crosstalk, grounding, shielding.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops complex multi-layer PCBs (rigid, flex, rigid-flex) for RF and high-speed digital apps.
• Performs RF layout for controlled impedance structures, transmission lines, antennas, filters, LNAs and PAs.
• Implements SI/PI, EMI/EMC, and thermal management best practices.
• Collaborates with RF, hardware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers.
• Creates and maintains PCB libraries, stack-ups and design rules.
• Generates fabrication and assembly documentation packages.
• Supports prototype bring-up, testing and debugging.
• Ensures IPC-2221/2222/6012 and defense-related compliance.
• Interfaces with PCB fabricators/CM partners to resolve DFM/DFT issues.
• Participates in design reviews and mentors junior designers.
