Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an RF Microwave Design Engineer – Level 4 to join our Space Sector in Dulles, VA. This on-site role focuses on designing SDRs and RF components for satellite communications, with a strong emphasis on system-level trade studies and documentation.

You will work in a small team, define robust RF solutions, and support integration, testing, and customer reviews while traveling occasionally. A TS clearance is required, with a 9/80 schedule and every other Friday off.

Qualifications

• Required degree in a STEM field with substantial professional experience.
• Active U.S. Government Top-Secret clearance at time of application.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Strong written and spoken communication for technical documents and reviews.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with RF circuit card design of SDRs and RF analyses.

Responsibilities

• Design SDR and RF components for satellite comms systems.
• Perform RF analysis and trade studies to meet performance targets.
• Lead requirements flow-down from customer documents to subsystems and components.
• Prepare design reviews and present findings to customers and management.
• Coordinate subcontractor work and manage interfaces and SOWs.
• Assist integration, testing, and in-orbit checkout of the system.
