Job summary

Fresh Consulting, a design-led software and hardware firm in San Francisco, seeks a Senior RF Engineer for a 6-month on-site contract. You will design and optimize Wi‑Fi networks for large-scale industrial settings, perform RF simulations, and test OTA and conducted Wi‑Fi modules in robotic systems.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in RF engineering, deep knowledge of 802.11, and hands-on RF test equipment. Compensation ranges from $85 to $95 per hour, with benefits and full-time weekly hours.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of RF engineering experience with a strong focus on Wi-Fi system design and optimization.
• Deep understanding of 802.11 protocols, RF propagation, modulation schemes.
• Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators, Wi‑Fi packet capture tools).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize Wi-Fi network architectures for large-scale warehouse and industrial environments.
• Conduct RF propagation modeling, simulation, and measurement using tools.
• Analyze and resolve Wi-Fi performance issues including co-channel interference, multipath fading, signal attenuation, and roaming latency.
• Develop and execute RF test plans including conducted and OTA testing of Wi-Fi modules and systems.
• Collaborate with hardware and embedded systems teams to integrate Wi-Fi modules into robotic platforms.
• Design and validate RF shielding, filtering, compliance for robotic systems operating in dense industrial RF environments.

Role:

• Design, develop, and optimize Wi-Fi network architectures for large-scale warehouse and industrial environments.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Range is $85/hr to $95/hr.
