Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Littleton, CO, is seeking an experienced RF systems engineer to support GPS payload integration and testing on GPS III/IIIF programs. You will execute procedures, test on development hardware, and perform system and characterization testing for flight vehicles.

Qualifications include RF/microwave, electromagnetics, signal processing expertise, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. This is an onsite full-time role with career growth in a major defense program.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of hardware deliverables such as test, handling, and data reviews.
  • Knowledge of RF/microwave, electromagnetics, and/or signal processing.
  • Experience with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, arbitrary waveform generators).

Job description

Location: Littleton, CO

Work Schedule: 9x80 (every other Friday off)

Position type: Full-time onsite (this is not a hybrid position)

Responsibilities
  • Support the Global Positioning System (GPS) III/IIIF by performing payload integration and testing.
  • Execute test procedure checkout on development hardware/software.
  • Conduct system testing on flight vehicles.
  • Perform characterization testing of complex payload products.
  • Calibrate equipment and conduct risk/opportunity assessments.
  • Support proposal efforts for the GPS program.
  • Design and develop high‑reliability RF components, subsystems, and payloads for space and missile platforms.
  • Conduct requirements analysis and decomposition.
  • Develop specifications and perform architectural and product trade analyses.
  • Execute detailed implementation, validate performance, and certify deliverable products.
  • Support proposals and new business opportunities.
Basic Qualifications
  • Knowledge of hardware deliverables such as test, handling, and data reviews.
  • Knowledge of RF/microwave, electromagnetics, and/or signal processing.
  • Experience with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, arbitrary waveform generators).
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Desired Skills
  • Experience developing and analyzing technical requirements and performing trade studies.
  • Ability to support programs from new business to delivery, including proposal support, concept development, and post‑delivery technical support.
  • Experience supporting program gates such as SRR, PDR, and CDR while leading technical development.
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to participate in cross‑functional teams and communicate and coordinate work as one team with common goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including interaction with management and peers.
  • Experience interfacing with customer representatives and higher‑level leadership.
  • Experience with procurement and management of supplier‑developed hardware, including collaboration with enterprise subcontract management teams.
  • Experience certifying and selling an RF payload or subsystem to the customer.
  • Experience in technical management of subcontractors delivering RF hardware.
  • Experience as a Certified Principal Engineer (CPE), Responsible System Engineer (RSE), or industry equivalent.
  • Familiarity with GPS and enabling technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience in adjacent disciplines (electrical systems, mechanical engineering, flight sciences).
  • Previous experience with government customers and supporting organizations.
  • Demonstrated technical depth in RF systems, RF electronics, or related engineering discipline.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Access (Google equivalents acceptable).
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
