About the Team

The Anduril Battlespace Awareness Radar team develops state‑of‑the‑art radar systems, deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies. The Radar team is seeking an experienced Senior RF Engineer to help us design, test, and deploy the next generation of US radars. The Radar team is responsible for all aspects of radar system development, from the ideation stage through initial production. In this role, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary technical team to define RF architectures, design, build, and test prototypes, and mature these prototypes into products.

About the Job

Anduril is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to build active electronically scanned arrays (AESAs) for radar applications across a range of frequency bands (depending on the program) — from architecture definition through hardware bring‑up, field testing, and initial production. The team owns the full stack: antenna element design, RF front‑end (RFFE) electronics, array integration, and the test infrastructure to verify it all. We move fast, hold high standards, and are looking for engineers who want their fingerprints on fielded systems.

What You’ll Do
  • Design: Own the RF design of analog beamforming AESA subsystems — incorporating T/R modules, beamforming ICs, corporate feed networks, and front‑end filtering — for radar applications. Conduct trade studies, RF simulations, and prototyping to drive innovation and ensure optimal system performance. Lead design reviews and make architecture trade decisions across antenna, RFFE, and digital.
  • Cross‑Domain Collaboration: Work across antenna, digital, mechanical, and systems engineering to define array architectures that meet the needs of users in the field. Bake in design excellence, including DFM and DFT, so that our systems can support the warfighter for the long‑haul.
  • Test: Lead RF characterization of AESA hardware — including near‑field antenna range measurements, RFFE performance mapping, and system‑level radar mode verification. Own the troubleshooting process when hardware doesn't behave and drive root cause to closure.
  • Teach: Mentor junior RF engineers on phased array fundamentals, measurement techniques, and design discipline. Set the standard for schematic quality, simulation rigor, and test documentation across the team.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in developing RF electronics, phased arrays, antennas or related radar electronics.
  • Experience leading the designs of active phased arrays using beamforming technologies from concept to production in a defense or aerospace environment.
  • Deep understanding of electronic systems engineering, including design specification, part selection, and test planning for RF systems.
  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, solve complex problems, and implement innovative solutions with attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB design (schematic capture, specifying and reviewing layout), with experience in tools like Altium.
  • Proficiency in RF design and analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, or comparable tools.
  • Expertise with RF measurement equipment, including Network Analyzers, Signal Analyzers, and Near Field Scanners.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar for design, simulation, and automated testing.
  • Demonstrated experience working across multidisciplinary teams in fast‑paced environments.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's in RF/Microwave Engineering.
  • Knowledge of antenna array simulation, design, and manufacturing.
  • Experience leading PCB designs for high‑frequency RF and high‑density interconnect routing, with working knowledge of microvias, multiple sub‑laminations, and driving stack‑up decisions.
  • Experience calibrating wideband phased arrays across frequency and temperature.
