Job description

Sr. RF Electrical Engineer

Raytheon is looking for a Sr. RF Electrical Engineer with a track record in Microwave RF design & production support. The role is based in the Airborne Radar Electronics Receiver / Exciter Hardware Design Group.

Security Clearance

Requirement: U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. An active, existing clearance required after day one.

What You Will Do
  • Work in a fast moving, high‑octane environment with prior success in detailed design, analysis, test, trade studies, modeling/simulation of Microwave RF circuits, RFAs, MICs, IMAs, CCAs, RF STE & production support. Use lab equipment and CAD tools.
  • Design and test high‑frequency circuits from baseband to millimeter wave. Provide module and unit level experience with a broad understanding of Receiver/Exciter and system level requirements.
  • Responsible for design and trade of component selections—including amplifiers, mixers, switches, resistors, diodes, and filters—conduct simulations in linear and EM simulators, develop schematics and layouts, build special test equipment, test and integrate, and support the product from development through production & post‑production technical support.
  • Progress from design & development to production support and lead production support as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA). Coordinate with test & production engineers, manage production schedules/Line‑of‑Balance needs, resolve production issues, and report status to management.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive problem solver who mentors less experienced engineers and shares knowledge to strengthen the team.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience in Microwave RF circuits.
  • Experience in design, analysis, development, bread‑boarding, troubleshooting, and testing of Microwave RF circuits.
  • Proficiency with software tools: Keysight ADS, National Instruments AWR Microwave Office, Sonnet EM, Ansys HFSS, AutoCAD or comparable.
  • Experience with lab equipment: Special Test Equipment, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, and Power Meters.
  • Active U.S. Government‑issued security clearance before the start date. U.S. citizenship required for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • On‑site presence or visits to designated suppliers for hardware testing, classified discussions, and mentorship.
  • Experience with system‑level software tools: Keysight Genesys or SystemVue.
  • Experience with Matlab, ADS, and HFSS Mentor Expedition or similar layout tools.
Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD – 181,700 USD.
