University of Florida Jacksonville Physicians, Inc. is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to secure reimbursement for professional services across physician offices, hospitals, ASC and telehealth locations. You will ensure timely claims, verify demographics, and resolve denials with payors.

Required are 5 years of healthcare billing experience and CPT/ICD coding knowledge. CPC certification is preferred, and you will work with the UFJPI Revenue Cycle team on process improvements.

Qualifications

• 5 years health care experience in medical billing or related field.
• Ability to develop course work presentations.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding and medical terminology.

Responsabilités

• Triage invoices to obtain reimbursement and maintain timely submissions.
• Resubmit insurance claims according to payor timelines.
• Research inquiries from PSRs, Cash, Charge Review and Refund Departments; respond by email.
• Communicate with payors about procedure/diagnosis relationships and coding rules.
• Review denials and posting errors; use UFJPI matrices for each payor.
• Update MES and inform Team Leader on status of work.
• Handle outbound calls to payors and patients for information.
