Job summary

Veterans Health Administration’s Atlanta VA Health Care System is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the Specialty Care Section at the VA Medical Center in Atlanta, GA. This GS-11 level role requires independent respiratory care in inpatient and outpatient settings and collaboration with physicians to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include advanced ventilation, airway management, and serving as a preceptor while contributing to policy development and care protocols

Qualifications

• One year of creditable experience at GS-09 level demonstrating clinical competencies.
• Active license and RRT credential.

Responsibilities

• Work independently providing respiratory care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality of patient care within area of specialty.
• Use advanced modes of ventilation and manage airway as needed.
• Serve as a preceptor to lower graded staff and contribute to policy/procedure development.
