Job summary

A custom integration company in Charlotte, NC, seeks an experienced technician to install and program Residential AV systems. Candidates should have at least 5 years of AV field experience, strong communication skills, and relevant certifications. The role includes project management and mentoring junior team members, with competitive hourly pay ranging from $30 to $35.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated, problem-solver capable of working overtime and traveling as needed.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean background.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Works independently and with team members to install equipment, program systems, and lead Residential AV projects. Has authority-level knowledge of Residential AV systems, equipment, and commissioning projects. May lead, train, and mentor less experienced Technicians.

Job Responsibilities

1. Provide daily project status updates to Project Manager
2. Maintain project documentation daily
3. Conduct site walkthroughs with Project Management, Sales, and Clients
4. Complete quality control checks using Job Form
5. Use project management principles to execute AV projects on time and within budget
6. Exhibit professionalism and deliver excellent customer service
7. Serve as a technical resource for Residential AV systems
8. Complete complex multi-room AV installs, setups, and calibration
9. Install control systems and theater rooms
10. Set up satellite/cable systems
11. Troubleshoot systems, both simple and complex
12. Install, set up, and deploy advanced networking/data systems
13. Program automation, lighting, shading, surveillance, and security systems
14. Design, populate, and wire equipment racks
15. Coach, lead, train, and mentor less experienced Technicians
16. Complete required training and maintain certifications
17. Adhere to and maintain quality standards

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of AV field experience with proficiency in listed responsibilities
• High school diploma or GED
• PCNA Certification or equivalent
• Control4 Automation Programmer Certification
• Lutron RA3 Certification (preferred)
• RTI, URC, Savant programming proficiency (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to read system drawings, floor plans, instructions
• Meet deadlines, be organized, multi-task
• Self-motivated, problem-solver
• Willing to work overtime and travel as needed
• Valid driver’s license, clean background, ability to lift 50 lbs., work at heights
