Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Senior Research Technician for the Santi lab to advance studies in sperm physiology and male infertility biomarkers. The role involves hands-on experiments, data handling, and contributing to contraceptive research development.

The candidate will be trained in fluorescence-based assays, plate-reader measurements, and quantitative sperm motility analyses, with duties ranging from data analysis to mentoring junior technicians in a busy lab setting.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
Laboratory experience (1 year) is preferred.
Willingness to learn and maintain meticulous records.

Responsibilities

Performs complex analyses according to research protocols and explains methods to other technicians.
Enters data and maintains current data files on research projects.
Monitors data to ensure consistent quality and may perform preliminary statistical analysis.
Prepares figures, tables and summaries for meetings, presentations, manuscripts and grants.
Troubleshoots procedures and contributes to improving assay reproducibility.
