Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is seeking a researcher to perform a broad range of technically advanced procedures and supervise lab activities. The role includes onboarding new staff and contributing to study design and data interpretation.

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, with 3–5 years of laboratory experience and strong data analysis skills. The position is onsite at 243-245 Charles Street in Boston, with a standard 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
Experience in a research lab 3–5 years.
Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and internet searches preferred.
Knowledge of laboratory standards and practices.
Ability to teach lab techniques to students and staff.
Ability to guide lower-level technical personnel.

Responsibilities

Independently performs non-routine, highly specialized experimental procedures.
Participates in the design and modification of research protocols.
Develops research methodologies within the parameters of experimental protocols and research objectives.
Composes and may present sections of research reports and manuscripts.
Performs advanced data analysis using advanced statistical techniques.
Oversees and coordinates lab activities, including quality assurance.
Oversees and coordinates the scheduling of all procedures.
Troubleshoots problems and instructs others in highly specialized techniques.
