Job summary

The University of Chicago's Social Sciences Research Center (SSRC) seeks a Sr. Program Administrator to lead the operation and development of SSRC and allied research centers within the Division of the Social Sciences.

You will collaborate with faculty, center leadership, and central offices to advance research capacity, grow programs, and secure external funding. You will guide research development activities, organize workshops, support proposal strategy, and maintain stakeholder relationships

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
• Strong planning and organizational skills required.
• Ability to coordinate multiple centers and initiatives across a division.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate operations for SSRC and assigned centers; set strategic priorities.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of faculty interests to shape programs.
• Establish processes, workflows, and performance standards for administrative functions.
• Manage SSRC Faculty Advisory Board and coordinate with faculty leadership.
• Lead research development training programs and proposal support activities.
• Oversee budgets, facilities, procurement, contracts, events, records, and databases.
