Job summary

University of Southern California in downtown Los Angeles seeks a Senior Research Program Project Manager to lead a portfolio of research, implementation, education, quality improvement, and strategic initiatives focused on patient care and pharmacist-led models of care.

This role translates priorities into work plans, timelines, budgets, deliverables, and measurable outcomes, coordinating teams and external partners. Excellent communication and budget-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health sciences, business administration, healthcare administration, project management, pharmacy, or related field.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience managing complex research programs or multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and managing grant proposal budgets, preferably federal grants and multi-partner proposals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, time management, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a complex portfolio of concurrent research, implementation, quality improvement, education, partnership, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, work plans, accountability structures, and systems for tracking deadlines and deliverables.
  • Coordinate preparation and submission of grant and contract applications; manage timelines and contributors.
  • Monitor budgets, expenditures, effort, and financial projections throughout project lifecycles.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders; facilitate meetings and reporting.
  • Develop workflows and SOPs to improve efficiency, accountability, and scalability.
