Job summary

Culmen International LLC seeks a Senior Research Physiologist to lead environmental physiology and data science for government investigations. You will design protocols and lead the work needed to extract reliable findings from multimodal datasets.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Environmental Physiology required.
• Expertise in physiological responses to heat, cold, and altitude.
• Experience with wearable sensors and large time-series data.
• Ability to design human-subjects field studies in extremes.
• Strong scientific writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to obtain security clearance and access.

Responsibilities

• Assist investigators with protocol design, study methods, data-analysis plans, and regulatory documentation.
• Plan and support field studies in heat, cold, altitude, and other environments.
• Identify and operate wearable physiological sensors and manage real-time data streams.
• Conduct exercise testing, metabolic measurements, and pulmonary-function testing.
• Operate clinical blood-gas analyzers and related equipment.
• Develop reproducible code in R, SAS, SPSS, or MATLAB for data curation and analysis.
• Manage large datasets with detailed metadata and secure transfer requirements.
• Interpret results and distinguish physiological signals from artifacts; support predictive models.
• Prepare journal-ready figures, tables, and technical reports for diverse audiences.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams during field studies and mentor staff.
