The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is seeking a Research Associate III to perform research and development in collaboration with scientific staff in The Day laboratory, Pharmacology Department.

The role emphasizes experimental design, execution, data interpretation, training of junior staff, and contributions to publications and grant reports, with a focus on radiation biology and tissue repair mechanisms. The position is on site in Bethesda, MD.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in biological sciences required.
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and animal handling.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and perform complex irradiation animal experiments with mice, minipigs, and nonhuman primates.
• Analyze tissue and cellular responses using immunohistochemistry, western blotting, and related assays.
• Maintain detailed records of procedures, animal health checks, and dermatitis scores.
• Apply statistical methods to analyze data and prepare reports for IACUC and publications.
• Train junior staff and collaborate with the team on study protocols.
