Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Research Associate to support protein expression and purification activities for a biotechnology company advancing immunology programs in Cambridge, MA. The Senior Research Associate is a 6-12 month contract opportunity and requires work onsite in Cambridge, MA.

You will execute established laboratory protocols, generate high-quality protein material, and maintain accurate experimental documentation.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of relevant lab or industry experience.
• Hands-on protein expression, purification, and inclusion body experience.
• Experience with ÄKTA, FPLC, or similar chromatography systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform recombinant protein expression and purification using ÄKTA/FPLC.
• Purify cytosolic, secreted, and inclusion body-derived proteins.
• Conduct basic protein characterization and quality control.
• Maintain accurate experimental records and ELN.

Job description

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Research Associate to support protein expression and purification activities for a biotechnology company advancing immunology programs. The Senior Research Associate will execute established laboratory protocols, generate high-quality protein material, and maintain accurate experimental documentation. The Senior Research Associate is a 6-12 month contract opportunity and requires you to work onsite in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities of the Senior Research Associate:

• Perform recombinant protein expression and ÄKTA/FPLC purification.
• Purify cytosolic, secreted, and inclusion body-derived proteins.
• Perform basic protein characterization and quality control.
• Maintain accurate experimental records and electronic lab notebooks (ELN).
• Collaborate with laboratory teams to meet project timelines.

Requirements of the Senior Research Associate:

• BS or MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
• 2-5 years of relevant laboratory or industry experience.
• Hands-on protein expression, purification, and inclusion body experience.
• Experience with ÄKTA, FPLC, or similar chromatography systems.
• Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills.
• Cell culture, immunology, or mass spectrometry experience is a plus.

Compensation for the Senior Research Associate:

• Salary range: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour
• Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.
