Job summary

OHSU seeks a Senior Research Assistant to support an established program studying drug effects across molecular, biochemical, and physiological domains. The role includes cellular work, cloning, and rodent handling with training provided.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s in a relevant field and at least one year of experience in a research lab. Responsibilities include recordkeeping, data analysis, and contributing to conferences, manuscripts, and grant writing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Experience with cell culture and aseptic technique is required.
• Experience with basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, gel electrophoresis) preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and in small groups.

Responsibilities

• Perform receptor binding, functional assays, and drug activity analyses.
• Maintain cell lines and perform molecular cloning using aseptic technique.
• Handle and care for rodents; training will be provided.
• Maintain records and manage data using electronic systems.
• Contribute to writing posters, manuscripts, reports and grant applications.
• Attend lab meetings and support additional duties as needed.
