Job description

Note: Long-term contract with a potential to convert full-time.

Duties:

• Responsible for providing technical support in the creation and the development of new medical device products.
• Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
• Researches, develops, designs, and evaluates mechanical and electro-mechanical materials, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment.
• Performs analysis and/or interviews to determine the requirements and constraints of the system.
• Analyzes user needs and provides input to stakeholders.
• Conducts feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
• Develops new concepts from initial design to market release.
• Directs support personnel and coordinates project activities.
• Writes and submits intellectual property (patents).
• Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
• Reviews or coordinates vendor activities to support development.
• Research various cost-effective, alternative approaches to current processes.

Required Skill:

• Experience: 6+ years of related work experience with a complete understanding of specified functional area.
• Requirements development & systems engineering: Experience translating user needs, clinical insights, physician feedback, and engineering data into measurable system and subsystem requirements and architecture.
• Experimental design & statistical data analysis: Must have experience designing experiments and collecting and analyzing data. Using tools like Minitab, JMP, or similar.
• Technical leadership & cross functional execution: Ability to lead technical investigations, drive cross-functional alignment, influence without authority, identify technical risks, and communicate recommendations to project leadership. Must be capable of independently defining next steps with limited oversight.
• Education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
