Job summary

PEAK6 Capital Management is seeking a seasoned Senior Research Analyst to originate high-conviction ideas for the CapMan Research desk in New York City. You will own your sector coverage from idea generation and research through to pitching to portfolio managers and traders, helping structure trades that express your view.

You will operate with autonomy across multiple teams, leveraging data-driven signals and AI-enabled tooling to inform trading decisions and enhance alpha generation.

Qualifications

• Deep sector expertise within assigned coverage area.
• 7+ years proven, accomplished coverage in your space (TMT preferred; flexible).
• Buy-side, alpha-minded with track record of generating differentiated ideas.
• End-to-end coverage from thesis to sizing, structuring and lifecycle management.
• Strong modeling, quantitative judgment, and ability to synthesize incomplete information.

Responsibilities

• Own your sector coverage end-to-end.
• Be the desk's go-to expert within your sector from thesis to trade lifecycle.
• Translate fundamentals into a distribution of outcomes, not just a price target.
• Forecast first-, second-, and third-order contingent events around catalysts.
• Collaborate with traders to structure best options expressions.
• Monitor positions through lifecycle including post-event reviews.
• Pitch differentiated, non-consensus ideas to PMs and traders.
• Conduct primary work via management meetings, conferences, calls, and channel checks.
