Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, finance or related discipline is required.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in a research academic environment including funding and regulatory aspects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to interact with MDs, PhDs, research and administrative staff.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access and Windows; ability to learn specific research access programs.

Responsibilities

• Serves as coordinating point between research administration, faculty, leaders, and hospital/university departments.
• Coordinates research efforts in recruitment of new faculty and staff, including relocations and financial arrangements.
• Leads special research-related projects such as major grant proposals and departmental reports.
• Manages post-award aspects of projects with sensitivity to investigators and sponsor requirements.
• Develops departmental budgets and collaborates on reimbursements for physician salaries for research.
• Ensures compliance with approvals, HR policies, and regulatory issues in research activities.
• Creates reports on funding, grant submissions and award activities; maintains confidential salary records.
