Job summary

Encore seeks a Sr. Repair Technician in Orlando to lead repair training, prioritize weekly tasks, and oversee QC processes. You will repair Encore equipment, manage parts, and support logistics across venues and network locations.

You will mentor technicians, document repair steps, and ensure accurate job tracking while maintaining strong vendor relationships and reporting on repair metrics.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree or diploma in a related technical discipline, or equivalent formal military technical training.
  • Minimum 5-year experience in component level fault isolation and repair.
  • Completion of all Tech 100 courses within Encore University.
  • Experience in repair of professional/semi-professional A/V and lighting equipment (or consumer electronics) is a definite plus.
  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and repair analog and digital circuitry to the component level.
  • Ability to use test-equipment such as DMM, oscilloscope, and signal generators.
  • Soldering/DE-soldering skills on thru-hole and SMD components.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, capable of independent and collaborative work.
  • Good mechanical skills and basic computer/MS Office proficiency.
  • Ability to follow directions and communicate with managers and subordinates.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review and prioritize repair needs with supervisor and Ops Excellence, assign tasks daily/weekly.
  • Provide training and guidance for repair technicians locally and across Encore’s network.
  • Perform technical and cosmetic repair of Encore equipment and road cases; support QC processes.
  • Design and build equipment to improve performance or value of existing gear.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and order parts for repairs.
  • Inspect gear at Encore hotel locations and report repairs; track metrics and ROI.

Job description

Position Overview The Sr. Repair Technician will lead the training of new repair technicians, assist with interviewing and onboarding repair technicians, prioritize repairs based on utilization/sub rental data and assign weekly priorities to the technician team. This position is responsible for facilitating and conducting repair of Encore owned equipment and supporting equipment transportation, scanning, tracking, internal billing, and other warehouse functions. The Sr. Repair Technician is responsible for implementing & overseeing quality control (QC) processes. Additional responsibilities include maintaining spare parts inventory, documenting the repair process, and providing overall assistance to internal and external team members. The Sr. Repair Technician will report to one of the following: Warehouse Operations Regional Director, Warehouse Operations Director, or Warehouse Operations Manager.

Key Job Responsibilities
Manage Weekly Repair Strategy
  • Review and Prioritize repair needs with direct supervisor and partnership with the Mgr, Warehouse Operational Excellence.
  • Assign tasks to repair technicians for completion each day/week.
Training
  • Provide training and guidance for repair technicians locally and throughout Encore’s network to expand their repair skills.
  • Identify need for manufacturer-based training/certification for specialty equipment.
  • Ensure all SOP’s and guidelines are in place and adhered to.
Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform technical & cosmetic repair and maintenance on Encore equipment and road cases. Includes show related items and facility related items.
  • Support all Quality Control processes and procedures.
  • Designs and builds miscellaneous equipment or devices to increase performance of existing products or add value to existing equipment.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and order necessary parts to complete repairs.
  • Visit Encore hotel locations to inspect gear and identify items in need of repair.
  • Establish and provide reporting on key repair metrics and ROI.
Technology Advancements
  • Research and test new equipment.
  • Prepare synopsis of benefits, costs, and downfalls of new equipment.
  • Proactively look for product advances and manufactured related problems with equipment.
  • Purchase shop related items.
Customer Service
  • Provide excellent service and strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
  • Maintain positive relationships with Encore teams through effective communication and excellent service.
  • Provide repair status updates to internal and external customers.
Equipment Handling and Tracking
  • Pick, scan, and stage outgoing equipment for transport.
  • Sort, scan, and perform QC on incoming equipment.
  • Re-shelf equipment after gear is sorted and QC process completed.
  • Perform annual physical inventory of equipment.
  • Load and unload equipment from vans, trucks, and tractor-trailers.
  • Assist with equipment deliveries or on show site as directed.
  • Keep work area orderly.
Systems Knowledge
  • Understands company processes and follows procedures.
  • Utilize Navigator software to manage pick lists and track equipment orders.
  • Utilize iProcurement to order parts.
  • Utilize Master Repair Log to maintain work order database.
  • Complete systems entry and paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
Job Qualifications

Work Environment
Warehouse

Work is performed at event venues as well as in a warehouse environment. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based in a warehouse environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area. When in the Warehouse, work will be completed in an environment with exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members may use high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
