Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, ML, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Six+ years of ML research/engineering with significant LLM exposure.
• Proficient in Python and PyTorch.
• Hands-on experience fine-tuning transformer models at scale.
• Knowledge of distributed training (FSDP, ZeRO, pipeline parallelism).
• Experience with RLHF, DPO or similar preference optimization techniques.
• Strong evaluation design and ability to ship production-ready work.

Responsibilities

• Design and run fine-tuning experiments for large language models (supervised, DPO, RLHF).
• Lead dataset construction and QA for instruction tuning and preference data.
• Build scalable training pipelines on modern distributed frameworks.
• Tune hyperparameters and training stability strategies for large models.
• Implement LoRA/QLoRA and adapter-based methods.
• Design rigorous evaluation suites including automated benchmarks and human evaluation.
• Operate large GPU-accelerated training jobs and recover from failures.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align roadmaps and document methods.
• Mentor engineers and promote responsible deployment practices.
• Stay current with LLM research and translate advances into production-ready recipes.
