Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Senior Manager of Reliability Engineering & AIOps to lead a global team responsible for keeping Lam's critical infrastructure highly available across Azure, AWS, GCP, and on-premise systems. The role emphasizes incident management, disaster recovery, and automation to reduce outages and noise.

You will define SLAs and error budgets, drive an incident-ready culture, and collaborate across regions to implement follow-the-sun operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field with extensive reliability experience.
• Experience leading or mentoring reliability/operations teams and setting technical direction.
• Proven incident command on major outages and postmortem ownership.
• Strong disaster recovery planning across Azure, AWS, GCP, and core infra.
• Hands-on ownership of an incident management and paging platform at scale (e.g., PagerDuty).
• Experience with capacity planning, performance trends, and demand forecasting for global production environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and grow the reliability engineering team while staying technically hands-on.
• Define service level objectives, error budgets, and drive adoption across teams.
• Run follow-the-sun on-call and response with consistent runbooks worldwide.
• Own incident management platform end-to-end, including scheduling and escalation policies.
• Serve as incident commander for major outages and lead blameless postmortems.
• Own DR strategy and execution across cloud and core infra with defined RTO/RPO targets.
• Lead capacity planning and performance engineering across cloud and HPC platforms.
• Define and drive AI Ops requirements for reliability across Azure, AWS, GCP, and hybrid infra.
