Job summary

Raytheon in Portsmouth, RI seeks a Senior Reliability Engineer to join the Life Cycle Engineering team. You will develop reliability analyses and models to ensure products remain safe, reliable, and maintainable throughout their life.

Key duties include RAM analyses, FMECA/FDFI, RAM requirement allocation, data interpretation, and FRACAS tasks. Requires DoD Secret clearance eligibility, STEM degree, and 5+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct RAM analyses and reliability predictions.

Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking talented Senior Reliability Engineers to join the Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) team. LCE is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable, Sustainable and delivered on time. LCE consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Life Cycle Engineers participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. In this role, you will develop reliability and maintainability analyses and models to ensure our products and systems are highly reliable and sustainable throughout their life.

What You Will Do
  • Conducting Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) analyses, including reliability predictions and maintainability predictions.
  • Performing Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) and Fault Detection/Fault Isolation (FDFI) analyses.
  • Defining/allocating RAM requirements.
  • Assessing RAM performance: Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time Between Critical Failure (MTBCF) & Operational Availability (Ao).
  • Interpreting data and analyzing results.
  • Performing Probability Risk Assessment.
  • Ensuring performance compliance with requirements.
  • Maintaining complex Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) and system models.
  • Performing Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) tasks, including trend analysis and failure investigations and presenting to internal and external stakeholders at program meetings and Failure Review Boards (FRB).
  • Supporting the proposal process in developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for RAM work.
  • Tracking Earned Value (EV) and providing accurate status on the schedule and budget for the RAM/FRACAS scope.
  • This position requires domestic travel, which is not expected to exceed 10%.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with Reliability, Maintainability, Failure Analysis and/or Electrical Design
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with Reliability and FRACAS Engineering Concepts including knowledge of reliability and maintainability predictions, FMECA/FDFI, RBDs, MTBF/MTBCF, Ao and probability risk assessment.
  • Electrical Engineering experience, Electrical Engineering degree/education preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to present technical material to audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong customer relationships.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
