Job Description – Senior Reliability Engineer
Location: Pennsylvania (Eastern PA: York, Reading, Easton | Western PA: Greensburg, Washington)

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer with 6+ years of utility reliability engineering experience to support a growing electric utility organization. This individual will serve as a technical leader responsible for reliability analysis, system performance improvement, infrastructure planning, and mentorship of junior engineers. The role requires a strong understanding of electric distribution systems, reliability programs, and utility operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead reliability analysis and system performance improvement initiatives across the electric distribution network.
- Evaluate outage trends, reliability metrics, equipment performance, and operational risks.
- Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective action recommendations.
- Support long-term infrastructure investment and system reliability planning efforts.
- Partner with operations, planning, engineering, and asset management teams to prioritize reliability improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and early-career professionals.
- Develop engineering studies, technical reports, and executive-level presentations.
- Support storm response, restoration activities, and post-event reliability reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of reliability engineering experience within the electric utility industry.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years supporting electric utility reliability, distribution engineering, planning, or operations.
- Strong understanding of utility reliability metrics, outage analysis, and system performance programs.
- Experience leading engineering initiatives and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience interpreting data and developing practical engineering solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of electric utility experience.
- Experience with distribution planning, asset management, or grid modernization programs.
- Knowledge of GIS, Power BI, SAP, CYME, Synergi, OMS, or similar utility platforms.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
- Previous experience mentoring engineers or leading technical teams.
