Job summary

Birla Carbon Senior Reliability Engineer in Franklin, LA, is a full-time, on-site role responsible for developing and implementing reliability strategies to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime, while extending asset life.

You will lead failure analyses, drive RCMA initiatives, collaborate with operations, maintenance and engineering teams, and help shape capital planning with safety and sustainability in mind.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CMRP, CRE) are an advantage.
• Experience with reliability engineering, asset performance, and maintenance strategy optimization.
• Experience with predictive maintenance technologies and CMMS/EAM systems.

Role Description

The Senior Reliability Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based at Birla Carbon’s Franklin, LA facility. This role is responsible for developing and implementing reliability strategies to improve equipment performance, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend asset life. Day-to-day activities include conducting failure analysis, leading reliability centered maintenance initiatives, and collaborating with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify and resolve root causes of equipment issues. The Senior Reliability Engineer will create and maintain reliability performance metrics, optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and support troubleshooting of complex technical problems. The role also involves driving continuous improvement projects, supporting capital planning for reliability enhancements, and ensuring alignment with safety and sustainability standards.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Reliability Engineering, including experience designing and implementing reliability improvement programs.
• Robust Analytical Skills and Failure Analysis capabilities to diagnose equipment issues, conduct root cause investigations, and recommend corrective actions.
• Hands-on experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance methodologies and maintenance strategy optimization.
• Advanced Troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, or process systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CMRP, CRE) are an advantage.
• Experience in continuous improvement, predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography), and asset management systems (CMMS/EAM).
• Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally, communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and lead reliability projects.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability, with experience in ESG‑focused or process safety–driven environments preferred.
