Job summary

WSFS Bank is seeking a Senior Relationship Manager in New Jersey to manage a portfolio of commercial clients with annual sales of $20-100MM+. The role focuses on retaining, expanding, and sourcing relationships through a broad network of CPAs, attorneys, PE firms, and investment banks.

You will work with credit colleagues to develop financial analyses, monitor loan covenants, and participate in risk reviews while interfacing with multiple internal partners.

Qualifications

The Senior Relationship Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial banking clients, e.g., companies with annual sales typically between $20-100MM+ and total exposures of $10-50MM+. This role will retain and expand existing commercial banking relationships, as well as source new commercial relationships via systematic networking with prospects and referral sources (i.e., existing client, CPAs, attorneys, PE firms, investment banks).

Job Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities to deliver non-credit products, including Cash Management, Capital Markets (Interest Rate Derivatives, FX and Trade Finance) and Wealth products and services.
  • Partner with credit associates such as Portfolio Managers and Credit Officers in the development and analysis of financial background data for new or renewed loans.
  • In collaboration with a dedicated Portfolio Manager, the incumbent will track existing loan portfolio to ensure complete conformity with terms and covenants, monitor and identify developing trends or early warning signs of problem credits, perform timely risk assessment based upon this information, update loan systems and customer credit files with assessments, and perform annual reviews.
  • Frequently interact with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Portfolio Administrators, Credit Administrator(s), Credit Officers, Senior Loan Committee and Executive & Risk Committee, as well as fellow Commercial Division associates.
Minimum Requirements
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum 6 years of commercial banking relationship management experience is required.
  • Must possess demonstrated experience in business development, prospecting, and managing commercial client relationships and portfolios, with an established network of centers of influence.
  • Must have the ability to work with companies who have alternative tranches of capital (e.g., mezzanine financing).
  • Must be well versed in delivering credit solutions to solve for client’s’ objectives regarding growth, timing differences and ownership transition.
  • Must have the ability to thoroughly interpret financial data and use sound business judgement with knowledge of commercial loan structuring and risk assessments.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present important and complex information in a concise and understandable style.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with credit, operations, treasury management, wealth management and other internal partners.

Salary Range: $133,728.00 - $219,696.75 Individual base pay may vary on additional factors such as the candidate’s experience, job-related skills, relevant education, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs. In addition to base salary, WSFS Financial Corporation (WSFS) and its subsidiaries may offer eligible Associates discretionary and formula-based incentive and retention awards.
