Job summary

AIG is seeking a Manager, Reinsurance Accounting to lead the Controllership team responsible for complex external reinsurance programs. The role supervises three direct reports and coordinates with offshore resources to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The position requires deep reinsurance knowledge, strong accounting skills, and the ability to drive process improvements in a dynamic environment. Offices in Wilton, CT and Parsippany, NJ support in-office collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years leading controller teams in a public P&C insurer.
  • Advanced knowledge of reinsurance operations, including accounting and controls.
  • Re/insurance designations (ARe, CPCU) a plus.
  • Strong understanding of balance sheet vs income statement impacts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting and operational controlling for a Lloyds-based reinsurance program, including XOL recoveries, commissions, and statements.
  • Oversee accounting for global catastrophe reinsurance across open contract years with treasury coordination.
  • Identify and account for cash calls, reinstatement premiums, and retrospective contracts.
  • Provide global Travel Reinsurance oversight and collaboration with billing teams.
  • Support external and internal audit processes.
