Job summary

The NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities seeks an experienced Nurse Administrator to oversee a cluster of nurses across multiple Brooklyn sites. You will supervise RNs/LPNs, ensure medical follow-up, and guide health services for individuals with complex needs.

Qualifications

Must possess a license and current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
Two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
One year of direct services experience with individuals diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disabilities, or related conditions in a community setting.

Responsibilities

Oversee a cluster of nurses in Brooklyn DDSO and supervise RNs/LPNs who oversee AMAP staff delivering health care per nurse Act Exemption.
Ensure timely completion of medical follow-up and nursing assessments with thorough documentation in electronic systems.
Provide health-related training/consultation to residential staff; participate in nurse-on-call rotation; obtain informed consent for medications.
Engage in orientation/mentoring of new RNs/LPNs; complete evaluations; monitor nursing audits and develop corrective plans.
Interact with primary medical specialists, hospitals, and clinical staff; advocate for individuals' health care needs; maintain ongoing communication with med liaison.
