Job summary

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional Supervisory Regional Counsel to represent the Department in juvenile court hearings across assigned counties. The role requires leadership of a legal team and expert advocacy in complex child welfare matters.

You will advise agency personnel on hearings and fair hearings, supervise staff, and coordinate with judiciary and prosecutors.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Illinois license to practice law.
• Minimum of three years of administrative experience in the practice of law.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Supervisory Regional Counsel
• Provides legal counsel to Agency personnel conducting all levels of administrative
• fair hearings
• Supervises a subordinate attorney or paralegal
• Assists in preparing cases for termination of parental rights (TPR)
• Liaises with judiciary, State's Attorney offices, and court personnel in each county
• Maintains current working knowledge of new legislation, Department rules and policy
