Job summary

Cencora in Montgomery County, PA is seeking an Engineer III, Red Team, to serve as a senior red team operator within our global Cyber Defense organization. This role plans, executes, and reports realistic cyber attack simulations against critical assets, emulating advanced threat actors to test detection, prevention, and response capabilities.

You will develop offensive tooling, coordinate with Threat Intelligence, deliver executive reports, and lead Purple Team exercises with Incident Response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 6+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience, with at least 4 years in Red Team operations or offensive security.
• Advanced knowledge of the full lifecycle of Red Team engagements and advanced penetration testing methodologies.
• Experience with red team toolsets (Cobalt Strike, Nighthawk C2, Metasploit, Evilginx) and custom implant scripting.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, OS internals (Windows, Linux, MacOS), cloud security, and defensive technologies.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK for mapping and emulating adversary behavior.
• Proven ability to bypass advanced defenses and demonstrate impact on critical assets.
• Hands-on scripting/programming experience (Python, Go, PowerShell).
• Demonstrated success in executing large-scale enterprise Red Team simulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication to articulate vulnerabilities to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute complex covert Red Team operations from initial compromise to achieving high-value objectives while maintaining operational security.
• Develop, customize, and deploy advanced offensive tooling, exploits, and implants to bypass controls and maintain persistence.
• Conduct vulnerability research, cyber security assessments, and social engineering campaigns as part of Red Team engagements.
• Collaborate with Cyber Threat Intelligence to incorporate adversary TTPs into attack scenarios.
• Produce executive-level reports detailing findings, gaps, and remediation recommendations.
• Facilitate Purple Team exercises with Incident Response to validate detection and response in real time.
• Present findings and strategic recommendations to technical and executive stakeholders.
• Stay current with offensive technologies, TTPs, and defensive countermeasures.
