Job summary

VA Augusta Health Care System is seeking a Supervisory Creative Arts Therapist to lead the Recreation and Creative Arts Therapy Department within the PM&R service at Augusta, GA. This role includes supervision, administrative management, and program direction to ensure high-quality therapy services for veterans.

The position requires CTRS certification (NCTRC) and appropriate ART/MT-BC credentials as applicable; candidates must meet VA education and certification standards.

Qualifications

• Must be certified in recreation therapy as CTRS by the NCTRC.
• If hired under specific provisions, CTRS certification cannot be waived.
• Creative Arts Therapist (Music) MT-BC certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the Recreation and Creative Arts Therapy Department.
• Provide supervisory and administrative management of program services.
• Coordinate with VA Augusta Health Care System leadership and staff.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation/Leisure approved by NCTRC

Bachelor's degree in any field + CTRS certification (NCTRC approved)

Master's degree in Art Therapy or related field with ATR/MT-BC certification
