Job summary
Axcelis Technologies in Beverly, MA is seeking a Senior SW Application Development Engineer to advance beam tuning and controls for ion beam systems. You will develop real-time machine control software in C/C++, implement enhancements, and fix issues in collaboration with product, hardware, and process teams.
The role requires hands-on experience with RTOS, embedded hardware interfaces, and high-speed data acquisition.
Qualifications
- Experience developing controls for complex electro-mechanical hardware with distributed IO.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills and real-time multi-tasked control experience.
- RTOS like Wind River VxWorks experience preferred.
- Embedded systems development and hardware interfaces understanding required.
Responsibilities
- Develop production-quality real-time machine control software in C/C++.
- Implement major/minor enhancements and bug fixes.
- Collaborate with product, hardware, process engineers, scientists and marketing to define software features.
- Investigate and resolve field-reported issues with product support.
- Test on hardware and product simulators with Software Quality Group.
