Job summary

CFS in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Controller – Real Estate to lead the accounting function for manufactured housing and land lease communities. You will oversee G/L, reporting, and cash flow, and work directly with ownership and senior leadership.

This role requires a CPA, 8+ years in real estate accounting, leadership experience, and hands-on experience with JV waterfalls, capitalized interest, and debt modifications. Yardi or Rent Manager is required.

Qualifications

• CPA Required.
• 8+ years of real estate accounting experience (multifamily, homebuilding, manufactured housing, or land lease communities).
• Strong experience with JV waterfalls, capitalized interest, and debt modification accounting.
• Yardi or Rent Manager experience required.
• 3+ years of accounting leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, reconciliations, and investor distributions.
• Review JV agreements, loan documents, and funding requests.
• Handle lender/investor reporting, debt modifications, and capitalized interest accounting.
• Maintain internal controls and supervise accounting staff.
