Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate and general corporate transactions.
  • Experience with construction contracts is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate a variety of real estate agreements.
  • Collaborate and provide legal guidance for acquisitions, dispositions, and financings.
  • Review and prepare purchase and sale agreements, negotiating terms.
  • Assist in drafting lease documents and other contracts.

Job description

The Senior Real Estate Attorney is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, leases, and investment documents for multiple divisions of a commercial real estate firm. The work is executed in close cooperation with other departments, along with external consultants, legal counsel, and clients. Your focus on building and maintaining effective relationships is complemented by your proactive and calm demeanor. You will review documentation, make educated recommendations, and solve problems confidently. You bring new ideas and are team-oriented. You will be a collaborator and advisor to all parts of the business

Responsibilities
  • Draft and negotiate a variety of real estate agreements, including but not limited to leases, architectural agreements, licensing agreements, contracts, and operating agreements
  • Collaborate, respond, and provide legal guidance for the closing process on acquisitions, dispositions, and financings
  • Review and prepare purchase and sale agreements, including negotiating terms
  • Assist in the draft, review, and final negotiation of all real estate lease documents, purchase contracts, LLC operating agreements, closing and loan documents as well as Letters of Intent and Confidentiality Agreements
  • Draft and negotiate real estate-related development agreements, such as options, leases, purchase agreements, easements, crossing agreements, non-disturbance agreements and surface waivers
  • Conduct a broad range of real estate related project due diligence, including reviewing surveys and title reports and obtaining title insurance policies and endorsements;
  • Interface with outside consultants, such as surveyors and title companies
  • Coordinate efforts with other internal teams to propose appropriate risk management, identify critical project risk issues and make recommendations and provide summation of documents for execution
  • Assist with issues of State real estate legal compliance matters
  • Ensure best practices are utilized
