Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of enterprise web development experience.
• Preference for DMV residents with up to 16+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure technologies maintain current, stable, and compliant architecture meeting enterprise standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture.
• Develop, test, deploy, revise, update, refactor, and debug application code and systems, including Java applications.
• Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and report performance utilization, hardware/software failures, and escalated support tickets.
• Determine optimal courses of action for business needs and provide consultative expertise to customers and stakeholders.
• Monitor integrated technologies, identify complex issues, and communicate findings appropriately.
• Coordinate activities of application developers, establish best practices, and function as a niche technical Subject Matter Expert.

Position Overview:

Support the modernization of the District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles Enterprise Application by leveraging cloud computing, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to build modern digital experiences for customers and partners. Design, develop, test, and deploy applications using modern web technologies across development, QA, and production environments.

• Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience Requirement: 10+ years of overall enterprise web development experience (with preferred preference for DMV residents with up to 16+ years of experience).

• Core Languages & Frameworks: ReactJS, React-UI framework, RXJS, NodeJS, ES6/5, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Angular 2.0, and JSX.
• Architecture & Workflows: REDUX architecture, Flux, Create React App, and data structure libraries.
• Mobile & Design Integration: React Native components, wireframe translation, CSS libraries, Sigma, and Adobe XD.
• APIs & Data Formats: REST APIs, JSON, and XML.
• Infrastructure & Deployment: RedHat OpenShift container-based deployment, Linux working environments, Tomcat, Jetty, and Undertow Application Servers.
• Tools & Practices: GIT version control repository, Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD), and eligibility to qualify for a Senior-level STaR2 position.
• Language: Native or bilingual proficiency in English.
