Job summary

Subway is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer - React Native Mobile to build and enhance the Subway app on iOS and Android.

You will work with designers, product managers, and engineers to deliver fast, reliable, and polished features, maintaining strong app performance and robust test coverage. The role emphasizes collaboration, agile ceremonies, and ongoing migration toward improved native integration and architecture.

Qualifications

• 6-9 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience building cross-platform mobile apps with React Native and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of React Native architecture: state management, navigation, performance, and local storage.
• Experience shipping apps to the App Store and Google Play.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain mobile features across the full stack of the app.
• Write clean, well-tested TypeScript with automated checks on commits.
• Connect app to backend services, payments, auth, analytics and flags.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into software.
• Review peers' code and ensure CI checks and peer review before merging.
• Debug and fix issues on iOS and Android using crash reports and logs.
• Write and maintain unit, component, performance, and end-to-end tests.
• Maintain build/release pipelines for App Store and Google Play.
• Document architecture decisions and code changes.
