Job summary

Premera seeks an experienced Software Development Engineer IV - React Native to shape architecture and development of mobile apps. You will partner with product, design, security, and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable RN experiences for members and providers.

Ideal for a senior engineer who mentors others and drives platform strategy while staying hands-on with development. Hybrid role on our Mountlake Terrace campus in Washington.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS or related field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of React Native development in production.
• Experience on iOS and Android platforms.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern mobile patterns.
• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing.
• Mentoring engineers and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of large-scale RN apps.
• Design scalable, maintainable, secure mobile solutions.
• Build shared mobile frameworks and design systems.
• Collaborate with product, UX, security, and engineering teams.
• Integrate with REST, GraphQL, and cloud services.
• drive CI/CD, testing, release automation, observability.
• Mentor engineers and guide multiple teams.
