Job summary

Old Republic is a leading specialty insurer seeking a Lead Technical Assistant to serve as the senior technical resource within the Rating Center.

You will provide advanced rating support, workflow coordination, and expert guidance for commercial insurance operations, partnering with Underwriters and leadership to process new business, renewals, endorsements, audits, and policy issuance while upholding underwriting guidelines and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of commercial insurance underwriting support, technical assistant, rating, or underwriting operations experience.
• Extensive knowledge of commercial lines coverages, endorsements, rating methodologies, underwriting guidelines.
• Proven ability to manage complex transactions and resolve technical issues independently.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced rating support and workflow coordination for commercial insurance operations.
• Guide and train Technical Assistants and Underwriting Support staff; provide quality oversight.
• Maintain rating manuals and update programs, rates, and guidelines.
• Prepare and rate new and renewal policies, audits, endorsements, and quotations.
• Issue commercial line policies after obtaining current information from underwriters.
• Coordinate and support assigned work activities to ensure deliverables are met; monitor progress and resolve issues.
