Job summary

Wabtec's DOSE Software Team seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop embedded software across products like ECP, video/event recorders, and braking systems. You will work with a cross-functional engineering team, performing reviews, unit testing, and release activities following DOSE processes.

You will design, test, and maintain software ensuring compliance with system, functional, and cybersecurity requirements while collaborating with the Software Manager to meet

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 5+ years of experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-driven, team player with results orientation.
• Experience with C and C++ software development.
• Experience with Bash, Python, or scripting for automation and unit testing.
• Experience with Linux or Unix-based RTOS (QNX, FreeRTOS).
• Knowledge of safety critical software and rail industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high quality software components aligned with system requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet product specifications.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions.
• Create documentation for software design, requirements, processes, and architecture.
• Participate in software reviews and CI processes.
• Contribute to end-to-end software development lifecycle and cybersecurity hardening.
