Job summary

USPI Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital Kingwood is seeking a motivated Radiology Tech to join our team. We perform diverse outpatient surgical procedures and require availability Monday–Friday with some early mornings and evenings.

Responsibilities include IV/contrast administration, operating room radiology, pediatric radiology, and PACs workflow. We value strong teamwork, attention to safety, and accurate image documentation in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • AART Registered and CPR Current.
  • Knowledgeable of local, state, federal and Joint Commission Regulations.
  • Must possess independent decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform IV and contrast administration and multiple radiology modalities in OR, outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Operate x-ray equipment, adjust exposure settings, and follow radiation safety procedures.
  • Prepare supplies, position patients, and explain procedures; report changes in condition.
  • Assist fluoroscopic examinations and special radiographic studies with the physician.
  • Record imaging data, label films, and ensure clean, orderly work areas.
  • Coordinate with lead tech and radiologist to maintain quality standards.
  • Process films per procedures and use PACs to send exams for interpretation.

USPI Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital Kingwood

We are seeking a motivated Radiology Tech to join our team. We have 6 OR rooms and 2 treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, Spine, Urology. The candidate must be available Monday‑Friday, schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of day, and must be available for some early mornings and later evenings.

Job Summary

Perform the described duties in the primary work area and demonstrate competency in the following: IV and contrast administration, orthopedic radiology, pediatric radiology, operating room radiology, trauma radiology, GI radiology, outpatient and inpatient diagnostic radiology, myelography and arthrography. Perform pain blocks, cholangiograms, CXR, modified specimen mammogram. File and log OR x-rays, keep Mini C‑Arm logs up to date. Report system of radiology findings to physician. Strong teamwork skills, utilizing down‑time to perform other assigned tasks, including room turnovers, restocking warmer, specialty carts, etc.

  1. Perform the described duties in the primary work area and demonstrate competency in the following: IV and contrast administration, orthopedic radiology, pediatric radiology, operating room radiology, trauma radiology, GI radiology, outpatient and inpatient diagnostic radiology, myelography and arthrography.
  2. Perform a variety of technical tasks involved in operating x‑ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body as specified by physician; adjust equipment for proper exposure, voltage and current in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
  3. Determine, prepare and set up medical supplies, instruments and equipment; explain x‑ray procedures to patients; position patients for each anatomical view specified using immobilization and protective devices as required; report any changes in patient condition to attending medical staff.
  4. Monitor accessory equipment and assist attending physician with fluoroscopic examinations and special radiographic studies.
  5. Record amount and type of film exposed; label film with identifying information; sort as required.
  6. Consult with lead x‑ray tech and radiologist to ensure compliance with established standards of quality.
  7. Process film in accordance with standardized procedures and maintain assigned work area in clean and orderly condition.

Required Skills
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Technology.
  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience preferred.
  • AART Registered and CPR Current.
  • Knowledgeable of local, state, federal and Joint Commission Regulations.
  • Must possess independent decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients and families.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and non‑verbally in a professional way.
