Mercy is seeking a Radiation Safety Officer to oversee the safe use of radioactive materials and diagnostic x-ray equipment across multiple departments. You will align with NRC requirements, MQSA and JC standards, and provide leadership to Medical Physicists and Associate Officers.

Qualified candidates will have a Master in a physical science (nuclear engineering/medical physics) and 3–5 years of nuclear medicine experience, with strong regulatory and data-processing skills.

Qualifikationen

• Education: Master degree or above in a Physical Science preferably Nuclear Engineering or Medical Physics.
• Licensure: NRC-qualified as RSO; MQSA and JC requirements for CT, MRI and Mammography.
• Experience: 3–5 years in Nuclear Medicine and diagnostic imaging; data processing preferred.
• Certifications: Recommended but not required.

• Oversee safe use of radioactive materials and x-ray procedures across departments.
• Act as Radiation Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with federal/state/accreditation bodies.
• Perform performance and safety testing of X-ray equipment; supervise staff.
• Participate in safety, hazmat, emergency, and accreditation committees.
