Job summary

KBR, Inc. seeks a Senior Radar Payload Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA to advance radar hardware, software, and system solutions for government contracts. You will lead RF front-end definition, SAR processing, and integration tasks while ensuring compliance with DoD requirements and V&V activities.

The role demands 8+ years in radar hardware, strong analytical skills, and experience with MATLAB/Python. On-site work in Northern Virginia with moderate travel and a focus on national security

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph.
• 8+ years of radar space system hardware development, integration, and test.
• Prototyping experience in MATLAB and Python.
• Knowledge of remote sensing technologies and RF signal processing.
• Strong client relationship skills and government contracting understanding.
• Experience with radar payload interfaces and AI&T activities.
• MS Office and project management software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Define RF front-end electronics and architecture for space-based SAR radar system.
• Document and develop radar hardware and software integration.
• Perform link-budget modeling and trade studies for hardware components.
• Develop SAR processing algorithms using MATLAB or Python.
• Assess test data across component to space vehicle levels.
• Validate system via V&V processes and vendor testing.
• Monitor vendor performance and system interfaces.
• Conduct functional analyses to meet performance criteria.
• Draft operations/procedures to resolve engineering problems.
• Conduct studies and provide technical instruction as needed.
