Job summary

General Mills is seeking a Sr. R&D Statistical Scientist (Statistician) to join the Data Science & Modeling team within ITQ. You will blend statistics, mathematics, modeling, and technology to transform data into actionable insights for product development, nutrition research, and quality.

You will train and coach other statisticians, collaborate with partners across General Mills, and translate complex analyses into clear recommendations that drive business decisions.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics or a related field.
• 3+ years of work experience in a statistical scientist/analyst role.
• Strong ability to define problems and deliver proactive solutions.

Responsibilities

• Solve problems across product development, quality, nutrition, and market research using data.
• Provide statistical consultation in study design and analysis to scientists.
• Train, mentor, and coach statisticians in the global team.
• Translate analyses into actionable insights for business decisions.
• Develop statistical and ML models with Python/R; scale on GCP.
• Build and deploy analytics pipelines for data-driven decision-making.
