Job summary

Land O’Lakes is seeking an R&D Chemist to lead pilot lab operations and drive technology transfer from lab to commercial production. You will oversee projects, derisk the business, and implement new capabilities while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across domestic and international markets.

Responsibilities span technical leadership on R&D projects, QA/QC collaboration, and liaison to manufacturing for scale-up and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or closely related field.
• 10 years of laboratory R&D experience.
• Knowledge of surface tension chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, coordination chemistry, micelle chemistry, complex ion equilibria, and biochemistry to formulate and solve needs.
• Knowledge of QA/QC, manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
• Knowledgeable in lab processes, OSHA requirements, industry processes, and industry standards such as AAPFCO, ASTM, CIPAC, CPDA-AIC, etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D projects through all stages from concept to commercialization and collateral development.
• Serve as subject matter expert for the plant nutrition line and mentor junior staff.
• Identify secondary sourcing opportunities to derisk the business and advise procurement.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or a closely related field

Master’s degree preferred
