Job summary

Atom Computing seeks a Senior System Integration & Test Engineer to integrate subsystems and align the complete optical system of neutral-atom quantum computers. This role performs system-level checkout, delivering alignment records for QE to begin atom-based testing.

Responsibilities include installing assemblies, aligning optics, and recording configurations. Requires 5+ years in precision laser/optical integration and strong collaboration with QE and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in a related field with MS preferred.
• 5+ years hands-on integration and alignment of precision laser/optical/AMO systems.
• Experience delivering complete-system readiness from measurements and configuration records.

Responsibilities

• Install optical, laser-delivery, mechanical, and electronic assemblies and verify against config.
• Align optical paths, establish beam geometry and polarization without atoms.
• Connect fibers and RF/control cabling, coordinate checks with specialists.
• Measure throughput, beam quality, alignment stability with diagnostics and metrology.
• Diagnose cross-subsystem issues and implement approved corrections.
• Complete safety checks and maintain laser-laboratory practices.
• Record alignment data and handoff details in the SI&T package.
• Work with QEs on first-of-a-kind integration for repeat builds.
• Support hardware corrections during QE testing while preserving configuration.
• Improve integration instructions and alignment methods with Manufacturing Engineering.
