Job summary

QuEra in Boston seeks a Senior Quantum Engineer to lead laser platform development and R&D across multiple QPU generations. You will own design, integration, and deployment of infrastructure-grade laser systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners.

You will design stabilization systems, optimize performance, and scale laser management with automation and AI-powered workflows across domestic and international sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with laser systems or opto-mechanical integration.
• Strong experimental and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop infrastructure-grade laser systems for repeatability and modularity.
• Evaluate new laser technologies for performance and integration readiness.
• Architect hosting infrastructure for quantum laser systems with vibration isolation.
• Manage build, integration, and validation across optical, electrical, and mechanical interfaces.
• Lead installation and commissioning of laser systems in QPU platforms.
• Prepare and ship laser subsystems to domestic and international sites.
• Design laser stabilization systems and perform performance characterization.
• Monitor uptime and lead root-cause analysis for downtime.
• Develop automation approaches, including AI-powered control agents.
