Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Quantum Applied Research Scientist to design real-time AI systems that learn from quantum device physics, calibration experiments, decoding, and system performance. You will build physics-informed data synthesis pipelines and surrogate models of quantum hardware to enable fast parameter inference and fault-tolerant control.

The role requires a strong background in quantum device physics and AI/ML, with hands-on experience in scalable model training, reinforcement

Qualifications

Masters degree or PhD strongly preferred; or equivalent experience.
8+ years of combined experience in quantum systems and AI/ML research.
Hands-on expertise in machine learning and deep learning for science or physics, including model architecture design, training at scale, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
Strong background in quantum device physics and information science, including noise models, error mechanisms, and fault-tolerant quantum systems.

Responsibilities

Research and develop open AI models for quantum system calibration to advance the state of the art.
Build physics-informed synthetic data generation pipelines using quantum device models and Hamiltonian characterization.
Develop surrogate models of quantum hardware for rapid performance prediction and parameter inference.
Architect real-time AI systems balancing calibration state and decoding requirements with latency and throughput.
