Job summary

Atom Computing in Berkeley, CA or Boulder, CO seeks a Senior Quantum Application Engineer to drive fault-tolerant quantum computing. You will work with our Error Correction, Software, and Compilation teams to advance scalable neutral-atom quantum computers.

The role includes evaluating resources, optimizing quantum algorithms, researching enhancements, and implementing near-term demonstrations on real hardware, with a strong startup‑minded, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• PhD in physics, mathematics, CS or related field.
• 3+ years of industry experience.
• Experience with fault-tolerant quantum computation theory.
• Strong background in quantum algorithms and applications.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate resources needed to run fault-tolerant algorithms on neutral-atom hardware.
• Develop strategies for optimizing and running quantum algorithms.
• Research ways to improve, extend, or generalize quantum algorithms.
• Implement near-term demonstrations of fault-tolerant algorithms.
